Organization Profile 

Axis Connects is a non-profit taking the lead role in being a central collaboration and resource hub for women-focused organizations in Calgary with a mission to increase gender representation in leadership roles.  We provide career development opportunities, networking events, community connections and mentorship to support women throughout their professional journeys. Axis also recognizes and celebrates female leaders through the Calgary Influential Women in Business Awards Gala each year.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Program Coordinator will support Axis Connects’ mission to connect, collaborate and champion the incredible movement to advance women in business Calgary, by supporting the day-to-day operational and promotional aspects of the organization. We are a small, dynamic and empowering nonprofit organization that requires an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly motivated, takes initiative and can execute plans, campaigns and opportunities. The role is expected to be up to 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible. You must be located in Calgary but this is a hybrid position as in working from both home and office.

Job Description:

Our growing organization is recruiting an individual with experience in project management, marketing communications and small scale event planning. The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination of the Career Development Dialogue Workshops and launching our new Lunch with a Leader program which help elevate women in business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning, budget and marketing for the Career Development Dialogue Session Program
  • Help launch and then manage the Lunch with a Leader program
  • Create graphics and marketing communications for events including Eventbrite
  • Source and manage speakers and mentors for these programs
  • Provide program information to members, guests, speaker and sponsors
  • Contribute content for monthly newsletters
  • Source and add relevant resource content to the website
  • Source and add relevant events to the website events calendar
  • Managing Axis Connects social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram)

 

The Experience You Bring:

  • A belief in our mission!
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Studies in Project Management or (PMP) – area preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • You understand and cater your work to different audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very comfortable working with social media platforms
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with digital design tools (Canva, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability in creative problem-solving
  • Strong project management, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Work proactively with little supervision
  • Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment
  • Taking and giving constructive feedback
